One unique feature of the conference is the Bryson L. James Student Research Competition, an opportunity for graduate and undergraduate students to present their latest research results, hone their communication skills and compete for cash awards. These students historically demonstrate strong academic and research ability and move forward in the industry to make outstanding contributions. The competition is named for Dr. Bryson L. James who served as Director of Horticultural Research for the Southern Nursery Association, as well served as coordinator of the conference and editor of the Annual Proceedings of the SNA Research Conference for nearly 50 years.
Today, Dr. Nick Gawel serves in this volunteer position. He coordinates the conference, recruits section editors and edits the annual Proceedings.
No registration required to sit in on presentations. Daily times subject to change based on the number of total presentations. A complete schedule (including presentation titles) will be available after December 1.
